Meetings are held in Haxby Memorial Hall near York, 10:30 till 3:30 on the first Saturday in the month unless the hall is unavailable, in which case an alternative date is found. Member-led stitch clubs and informal stitching in the morning, with a speaker or organised activity in the afternoon.
There are four competitions a year, entries can be of any stitched media
March: a commercial design from a kit, book or magazine
June: Shirley Smith Trophy, a themed competition set by the committee
September: Ida Barber Trophy, awarded for an original design
Christmas: 2026 Christmas card, 2027 Christmas tree decoration
